You taunt me
Hidden behind a familiar smile
Take me through streets
Of cobblestone & old wood
Through a time
When history is birthed
You walk before me
A slight sideways glance
Nevermore
You remain a secret
Something almost within reach
But always never quite
Reach for my hand
Without looking
First the left
And then the right
A quickening of my pulse
I know you!
I tug at you
Turn
Just once - please
Turn!
But with both my hands in yours
You merely pull me firmly onwards
A split second
My eyes close
Then open
And I grasp your hands
Resolve to follow
Where - and when - you lead.
Hidden behind a familiar smile
Take me through streets
Of cobblestone & old wood
Through a time
When history is birthed
You walk before me
A slight sideways glance
Nevermore
You remain a secret
Something almost within reach
But always never quite
Reach for my hand
Without looking
First the left
And then the right
A quickening of my pulse
I know you!
I tug at you
Turn
Just once - please
Turn!
But with both my hands in yours
You merely pull me firmly onwards
A split second
My eyes close
Then open
And I grasp your hands
Resolve to follow
Where - and when - you lead.
