#365daysofpoetry Day 73
What to do in an 8-hour drive?
Stare idly at the countryside;
Mountain ranges in varying shades
From lush verdant to rich chocolate;
Monotonous farm fields
Stretching as far as the eyes can see;
Some tended, brimming with crops
But most, with weeds are choked;
I asked out loud, in startled despair
"Where are the farmers?";
"Why, of course, the UFO abducted!"
My little one sagely declared
