Lenten Series: Mar 17

"You are indeed water,
the softest stuff in the world
penetrating slowly, then quickly
my hardest, most staunch defenses;
Insubstantial, you enter where no room was.
by you I knew something done by quiet being
and all the world but few knows
your accomplishment without use of words ...
just hands, hearts, beating and patient;
soon you'll break the hardness of this
bloody stone and embrace
the moon." (aquarius, mary ruby m. palma)

Imagine living a life, like a quietly flowing river, bringing life to everything it touches. How? By loving and allowing ourselves to be loved. We are born out of and made for love. This means, that our instinct is to love and it takes more energy out of us to withhold it. So ... let go and let the love flow!

"Real love is about loving and letting yourself be loved. It’s harder to let yourself be loved than to love. That is why it is so difficult to come to the perfect love of God. We can love Him but we must let ourselves be loved by Him. Real love is being open to the love that comes to you. The love that surprises us. If you only have information you are not surprised. Love surprises because it opens a dialogue of loving and being loved." (Pope Francis)

From 1st Reading - Ezekiel 47:1-9, 12:
"This water flows into the eastern district down upon the Arabah, and empties into the sea, the salt waters, which it makes fresh. Wherever the river flows, every sort of living creature that can multiply shall live, and there shall be abundant fish, for wherever this water comes the sea shall be made fresh."
