Lenten Series: Mar 18

"Kung anong ginagawa ng matanda, siya ring gagayahin ng bata" (What the adults do, the children will do as well).

Today's Gospel has two important aspects:

  1.  Active Witnessing. "Walk the talk" because action speak louder than words. We teach our children (and children in faith) to act appropriately, but until they see us doing it ourselves, it will all just be abstract concepts.
  2.  Active Learning. We need to love as the Father loved, so we have to get to know Him actively. How? By recognizing how He moves, makes Himself known and speaks in the everyday things and the everyday people we meet.

"Truth loves nothing better than the simplicity of truth.
Eternity: for all its invisibility, we gaze at it."
(The Elegance of the Hedgehog)

From today's Gospel - John 5:17-30:
"My Father is at work until now, so I am at work...
Amen, amen, I say to you, the Son cannot do anything on His own, but only what He sees the Father doing; for what He does, the Son will do also. For the Father loves the Son and shows Him everything that He Himself does, and He will show Him greater works than these, so that you may be amazed."
