"Huwag kang magbuhat ng sarili mong bangko" (Do not lift your own chair/bench)
This roughly translates to: Do not praise yourself. Who wants to be around someone who brags about himself? Makes you wonder whether he is actually telling the truth or the motivation behind his actions.
Doing good and doing the right thing should be the reward in itself. And we should do all things out of and for love. In this way, regardless of whether there is anyone watching or not, we do the right thing.
